Our Sustainability Commitment
At EKIKO, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in creating high-quality products without compromising our planet. It’s a challenging journey, but we are committed to continuously improving our product development and manufacturing processes until we achieve the best possible outcomes.
Here’s how we’re making a difference:
Sustainable Materials
Our signature weighted blankets and sleep products are crafted from eco-friendly and sustainable materials. For instance, the glass beads in our weighted blankets are made from recycled glass. We prioritize manufacturing processes that minimize waste and hazards, ensuring our products are safe for both you and the environment. Our mulberry silk eye masks, infused with silver ions (a natural antimicrobial process), combines comfort with sustainable materials. Additionally, our products are independently tested in third-party labs and certified by OEKO-TEX® as free from harmful substances. We eliminate PVC from our products and packaging, such as the carry bags for blankets, ensuring our material are free from mercury, lead, heavy metals, ozone depleters, formaldehyde, VOCs, and phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Ethical Production
We work closely with our supply chain to ensure ethical labor practices and fair trade. We go the extra mile by setting up offices across Asia to stay connected with our supply chain and conduct annual in-house audits to ensure compliance with BSCI or Sedex initiatives. This means no child labor, underpaid wages, forced overtime, or unsafe and unhealthy work environments in our production lines. By choosing EKIKO, you support a brand that values ethical sourcing and manufacturing.
Recyclable Packaging
We are committed to reducing plastic waste. Our packaging is designed to be fully recyclable, using minimal materials while ensuring your products arrive in perfect condition. We encourage our customers to recycle or repurpose our packaging to help protect the environment. Our goal is to eliminate plastic use in packaging, from bulk shipping to retail packaging, by October 2024.
Community Initiatives
Giving back to the community is an essential part of our mission. We collaborate with local charities and environmental organizations to support sustainability and well-being initiatives. Our recent partnership with Keep Christchurch Beautiful helps fund local environmental projects through our affiliate program. Find out more about our collaboration with Keep Christchurch Beautiful on our website.
Transparency and Accountability
We believe in being transparent about our sustainability efforts. Regular updates on our progress and initiatives are shared with our community. We welcome feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our sustainability practices.
Join us on our journey towards a more sustainable future. When you choose EKIKO, you’re not just buying a product; you’re making a positive impact on the world. Together, we can make a difference.
